So I start tomorrow morning at 10am and I couldn't be more excited and relieved as I am now.

All this time I've felt like I've been kindof "playing" at living in New York, like I was on a stressful vacation. But now, I feel like I'm actually now a part of the great collective. It's a fantastic feeling.

Lunch is made, bag is packed, and I'm ready to rock this shit out.

Happy Birthday Jeremy!

For all the men in the world who are far better than I, you certainly stand above all of them. You're a model for the 23rd century man.

Ok, I'm at the point now where I'm getting ready to start to applying. Here's a big question though:

Many of the companies I am looking at have multiple positions that are all somewhat similar and I am qualified for.

Do I apply for all of them, focus on a few, or merely mention that I am curious in multiple positions at the given company?

So I'm reading wired.com and I come across this article about some chick named 'toybreaker', and I instantly am wondering who was trying to rip off Bethany. Then I realize the article was about Bethany. And then felt stupid:

Dear Project Runway Judges:

When you have the opportunity to send Ricky home, DO IT. It's time you learn this lesson, because the opportunity has arisen on EACH AND EVERY fucking episode.

The only reason why I can see why you got rid of Rad Kit instead of Ricky Lake is because Ricky is getting progressively more annoying, and somehow, becoming a progressively worse designer. HE'S OUT OF HIS FUCKING LEAGUE, and on any other season would've gotten the boot forever ago.

Steve Lawler's 'Courses for Horses' is the kind of track I would force people to listen to if I was one of those evangelical hipster who insists on attempting to convert the average person merely so he can feel better when they hate whatever he presented to them.

Pushing Daisies:

I'm so enamored by this TV show that I almost don't know what to do with myself. It's got the charm of Big Fish mixed in with the sentimentality of eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, and the wit of Being John Malkovich.

I'll attempt to explain:

Ned's a piemaker. Ned has a talent: he can revive someone who's dead with a touch, but he has to touch them again within 60 seconds or else someone else nearby will also die.

So the dude teams up with a private investigator to revive people who have died, found out how they died, and collect any rewards. Except he does this once with a girl he used to have a crush on, and doesn't have the heart to touch her again (her funeral director then kicks the bucket).

Anyways, the show is smart, wry, and I love it so far. You can already tell that its either going to be a massive hit or go the way of other amazing shows...........which is to say, in the bin.

Cheryl's birthday party:

this is what adults should be doing rather than running around the exact same club night weekend in and weekend out. I could easily go to parties like that and just be a happy, social, and cultured individual.

We have such smart, intellectual, and wise friends that it's always a learning experience talking to them. What do I learn when I hit up the works for the trillionth time? That the sound sure could use tuning.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy going out. But at this point in my life I would much rather converse with my friends in a very real and open fashion, eating hamburgers by a fire, than going to hear the latest craptacular dj attempt to mix strings of life with the man with a red face.

One thing I hate about the warmer seasons:

flip flops.

The cadence of lazy people is amplified, even advertised, by the donning of a flip and a flop. These people go nowhere fast, and wearing flip flops paints a big red target on their ass that they're not enjoying where they're going, but by golly they're going to take up as much time getting there as they possibly can.

Hope is tomorrow's veneer over today's disappointment.

- It sounds dark, almost nihilistic, but I take a different meaning. Hope, by itself, does nothing but sooth our souls for just a *little* bit longer. Hope is this cosmic lottery that people play, believing that the world will simply right itself, correct the balance, and justify all the bad things that have happened. Hope, by itself, only leads to more disapointment.

Action is the only thing that makes hope a valid incentive. Direction. Work. When hope is tempered by our ability to make decisions and move forward, it's powerful, but when left to its own devices, is impotent and potentially dangerous.

Being near death in bed for 3 days really gives you the time to think (way over analyze) about what you've been over analyzing all this time. Thanks to cyn, I feel world's better this morning, and next time when my temperature goes way over a 100 I'll go to the doctor, I promise. Idiot.

You know what? I'm human. I'm going to fuck up. I'm going to make ugly mistakes that affect those whom I love the most. It's how it's been done ever since Grog mistook greeg for a saber toothed buffalo and speared him through the heart. For me to sit here and discuss neutering my personality for the sake of eliminating the possibility of making mistakes? What's more important is for me to just try a little harder, and when I fuck up, not be so goddamn stubborn and justify my errors.

geek alert
I don't know how they do it, but battlestar galactica gets better with EVERY episode.

There were so many "oh fuck" moments in this last episode that when the galactica appeared in the atmosphere and I had NO clue what they were doing until the last second, I had to stop the video and get up because I couldn't believe someone wrote something so rad.

Usually when writers have "escape" moments in television they cut corners on the bad guys to make the escape even possible. It always lessen the experience. But on this episode no corners were cut, it was just as ugly and difficult as it should have been, but they pulled it off with genius.

Best show on TV, hands down, and if you're a fan of good writing you're an idiot for missing it.

I've been purchasing this delicious food from Trader Joe's, which I shall call wheatabix, because that is its name. It's supposedly a breakfast cereal, but I don't know how accurate that is.

You see, wheatabix comes in these, lets say, biscuits. Large biscuits. Like, one per bowl. Obviously this is convenient for portioning, but this is only the begining of how bizzare this so called "cereal" is. You break apart this "biscuit" in your bowl, and then when you poor milk on it, it becomes magic. This slaughtering of a biscuit in your bowl becomes what can only be described as cold porridge.

It's delicious! It's slightly sweet, unbelievably healthy (14 grams of protein for a breakfast cereal isn't anything to sniff at) and as organic as sin.

What they don't tell you is that in each biscuit comes a full bulk sized portion of the farties. Yes, the kind of farts that come from your butt.

Nothing smelly, thankfully. Those of you who know me know that I can remove paint from the walls with the best of them, but when you're having to excuse yourself to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes in order to let your ass do impressions of frustrated whale mating calls.........well, that's excessive for even one as myself.

So, unfortunately, I've switched to cornflakes. Mysteriously, ALL of my gasiness has disappeared. Gone. zippo. Nilch. Nadda. No matter what else I eat during the day.

This is akin to letting go of an imaginary friend. You're so comfortable with them around that when you let them go back to wherever dropdeadfred came from, you'll miss them.

Today is a somber day.

I watched "the United States of Leland" tonight.

Powerful. Thoughtful. Damn.

At times I was worried that it might get a bit soapboxy, but it brings itself back down to earth pretty quickly. No character, even leland, is as insightful as they portray themselves.

ASK A NINJA
Ok, I don't know how you guys feel about "ask a ninja," but I gotta admit I find it absolutely hilarious. Everytime a new episode comes up I wonder if he's going to run out of schtick, and he never does. Always a hilarious time.

Anyways, lately he's been putting adverstising in the videos. Nothing major, always at the very end, and he still makes it pretty hilarious. Today he posted his review of Pirates of the caribbean, and I had a feeling in my stomach that this was a full on advertisement and it was going to suck.

In 3 seconds he alleviated my fears.

If you haven't checked out ask a ninja, I suggest you do. Each episode is five minutes of hilarious.
